Victim of orthodox rituals

I said more about Viththals in the previous post. Just while
mentioning their name, I got reminded of something, which is no good
to write about also no good to skip writing about :-)

So this was another Gult family in my colony. Obnoxiously orthodox the
were. Mine was the only Brahmin Maharashtrian family. And I was the
only boy who had got his threading ceremony done.

These Viththals had three daughters. Elder one I don't remember her
name, other was Madhu and third was Shriwalli. She was of my age, but
was pretty huge in size. So I never paid much attention to her ;-) I
had watched Honey I shrunk the kids with these three girls. :-) Fond
memories make you deviate a lot from the subject!

So the point is I had to perform some yearly Puja at their house. And
I did it for 3 years. The family was not at all considerate toward
me though. They used to make me take bath with a cold water and do
the puja with all-wet towel around me. I had to finish all the
"naivedya" that they used to prepare. I know that a great great
mathematician Ramanujan died of pneumonia, due to same habits that he
continued in U.K. winter.

This is insane, I tell you. If I see this family again I will make
them sit on a ice slab till they catch cold.
